Overview

Calling Scripts generates cold-call openers, objection responses, and discovery questions for the selected client, grounded in their Playmaker value proposition and ICP. Start a script by writing it manually, generating from Playmaker AI, or importing a CSV, PDF, or Google Doc. Manual drafts open the existing block editor so you can build a script block by block; an empty draft cannot be applied to a campaign until at least one block has content. Edit any block, rename its heading, add or remove blocks, and apply light formatting. Optional internal notes stay separate from spoken content. Edit a block to add, update, or clear its plain-text caller guidance. Save the best version for campaign calls, then star it, apply it to one campaign or all non-archived campaigns, duplicate it, or export it to Google Docs or PDF. The saved-script editor also includes standard and readable client custom-field variables that you can copy or insert while editing. When the selected client has a review or approved Playbook, you can also preview its ordered sections and create one new draft from that wording. Existing scripts stay unchanged and the draft is not applied automatically. The library also lets you copy only objection blocks from the selected script or another campaign into one or more target campaigns, while preserving every non-objection block. Create from Playbook is available when the client Playbook is in review or approved status. Create from Playbook is now one of the choices inside the New Script chooser and is marked Recommended when available; it is no longer a separate header action. Saved versions now show their formal campaign affiliations. Choose a linked campaign to open its Campaign Detail page, or use a campaign’s Calling Script tab to return directly to the affiliated library script. Applying or copying sections alone does not create this saved-library affiliation.

How to use this page

  1. Select the client

Pick the client in the top-right switcher. If the Playmaker value proposition is not complete, finish PlayMaker first; generation is blocked until then.

  2. Generate a script

Open the generate panel, add any instructions, and click Generate Script. The script streams in as a set of blocks tailored to the client: an opener and value prop, common objection handlers, discovery questions, and a close and sign off. Objection and question blocks carry trigger phrases so the live call tracker in the dialer can flip to the matching section as the prospect talks. Add or remove blocks afterward to fit the client.

  3. Choose how to start a script

Click New Script to open the chooser. When the selected client's Playbook has call-script sections, the chooser puts Create from Playbook first and marks it Recommended. The other paths are Write manually, Generate with Playmaker AI, Import from CSV, and Import from PDF or Google Doc. The Playmaker option uses the selected client's value proposition. CSV and document imports let you bring existing copy into the reusable script library.

  4. Create a script from a review or approved Playbook

When the selected client has a Playbook in review or approved status with call-script sections, click Create from Playbook. Review the ordered section preview, then click Create Draft to copy the available wording into one new calling-script draft. Existing scripts remain unchanged, and nothing is applied to a campaign automatically. Review and edit the draft before using it. Open this path from the Create from Playbook choice inside the New Script chooser.

  5. Write a script manually

Choose Write manually, enter a script name, and click Create draft. SalesHive creates a blank draft for the selected client and opens the existing rich-text block editor. Add an opener, value proposition, objection response, question, or custom block, then edit and save the blocks. Nothing is assigned to a campaign until you choose Apply to Campaign. An empty draft keeps Apply to Campaign disabled until at least one block contains content.

  6. Import an existing script

Choose Import from CSV to upload a .csv whose header row names the sections. Headers are auto-matched and unmatched columns become custom sections you can fix in the mapping step. Download the CSV template or open the Google Sheet template if you need the expected layout. For an existing document, choose Import from PDF or Google Doc, upload a PDF, DOCX, or TXT file, or paste a Google Doc link shared with saleshive.com or link-shared. Click Analyze document, review the titled sections, edit titles, types, and content as needed, then click Save draft. The document flow preserves your original wording and skips empty sections when saving.

  7. Work with a saved version

Open any saved script from the sidebar to see the version-header actions row: star it, apply it to a campaign, duplicate it, or export it to Google Docs or PDF. The actions row also includes Reuse objections, which copies only objection blocks to selected campaigns. The saved version also shows a Formally linked campaigns panel. Choose a linked campaign to open it. A formal link is a saved-library affiliation, so applying or copying sections by itself does not create one.

  8. Reuse objections across campaigns

Open a saved script and click Reuse objections. Choose the selected library script or another non-archived campaign as the source, review the source objection blocks, and tick one or more target campaigns. Confirm Replace objections to replace only each target's objection blocks. Openers, questions, closes, and every other non-objection block stay unchanged, and the results list reports each target that changed or already matched. A source must contain objection blocks with content.

  9. Edit a block

Each block has a pencil icon in its header. Click it to edit the block in place. The heading becomes an editable title field, and the body opens with a light formatting toolbar for bold, italic, and strikethrough. Use the optional Internal note field below the spoken copy to add or revise plain-text caller guidance, or clear the field to remove its note. Click Save to commit, or Cancel to discard. The renamed heading flows through to the dialer script tab and to Google Docs and PDF exports; the block's underlying section key is preserved.

  10. Add a new block

Click Add block at the bottom of the script to open the authoring card. Type a title, choose General, Objection, or Question, and write the content using the same light formatting toolbar. Click Add block to append it. The new block saves to the script and appears for SDRs in the dialer and in exports.

  11. Delete a block

Click the trash icon in a block's header to remove it. You are asked to confirm first because deleting a block cannot be undone.

  12. Duplicate a script to revise it

Click Duplicate in the actions row to clone the open script into a fresh draft copy named the same with (copy) added. The copy keeps the content, style, and instructions, resets to draft and unstarred, and opens so you can revise it without changing the original.

  13. Apply a script to a campaign with per-block categories

Click Apply to Campaign in the version-header actions row to open the modal. Each block has a General, Objection, or Question dropdown that defaults to its authored category. A changed category applies only to this campaign assignment; the saved library version is not mutated. Choose a campaign and click Apply, or use Apply to all N campaigns to update every non-archived campaign for the selected client. Each campaign keeps its own history entry, and the modal shows an individual result for every campaign. Apply controls stay disabled for a blank manual draft until at least one block contains content.

  14. Use script variables

Use the Script variables panel above the blocks to copy standard tokens such as {FirstName}, {Company}, {Title}, {SDRName}, and {SenderName}. When the selected client has contact custom fields, readable {CF:Field Name} tokens appear under Custom fields. Click a chip to copy it, or use Fields in the rich-text editor to insert it at the cursor. The dialer resolves custom values for each contact; missing, blank, array, and object values render blank.

  15. Review formal campaign affiliations

Open a saved script to see Formally linked campaigns beneath its actions. Each linked campaign opens from its row and shows its current status. The sidebar also shows the number of formal links for saved scripts that have them. A formal link identifies the source saved-library version, while applying or copying sections does not create one.

Open a saved script and use the Script variables panel or Fields menu. Copy or insert the readable {CF:Field Name} token. The dialer resolves it from each contact during the call; missing or unsupported values render blank.
